What is Erase All Kittens?
An immersive online adventure game that inspires children to code, whilst delivering transferable digital skills.
Most jobs now require digital skills - it is estimated that this will increase to 90% by 2030. Children who understand how technology works will have a huge advantage over those who don’t - in every discipline, not just computing.
Erase All Kittens is a new multi-award-winning coding platform which supports schools in developing their digital skills curriculum through IT lessons and enrichment clubs. Already being used in 3,500+ schools, it inspires students aged 8-13 to code and learn web development skills through problem solving, literacy and gamification.
EAK is different to other coding tools as it introduces learners to the languages of all websites and web apps, offering a strong foundation to real-world programming. Students learn web development skills through problem solving, literacy and gamification - by building and fixing real levels using code, as they play.
Quirky characters, fun interactive dialogue and collectable kitten cards eliminate ‘technophobia’ by giving children a safe space to fail and rewards for persisting. Over half of EAK’s players are young girls and 95% want to learn more about coding after playing - as opposed to an estimated 18% for other tools.
An Erase All Kittens school subscription includes:
- 3-4 hours of gameplay content, consisting of 30+ HTML and CSS coding challenges.
- 4+ hours of creative coding lesson plans that support the UK Computing Curriculum.
- An extremely effective method to engage girls and boys in computing.
- Additional skills complementing and going beyond the curriculum e.g. PLTS.
- New content teaching further HTML, CSS and Javascript skills will be added on a regular basis from March 2022.
