Recommended Usage

Learners below the 15th percentile use for 10 to 15 minutes every maths lesson.

Learners between the 16th to 40th percentile use 2, ideally 3, times per week, for 15 to 20 minute sessions.

Independent studies commissioned by the Education Endowment Foundation and the Family Fisher Trust from 2002 to 2020 report that SAM Learning significantly improves students' GCSE grades with as little as 10+ hours of usage.

Most Helpful Reviews

timely practice

John Petry, Lead Practitioner: It is the only thing I have found which guarantees that students who need additional learning support catch up with their peers. Often they can understand harder topics - it is just their memory holding them back. Timely practice removes that barrier.
Tony Shah, Head of Mathematics: Because I have seen first hand the confidence, enjoyment and progress of pupils
Kirsty Behan, Acting Team Leader: Timely Practice has revolutionized the way I teach low attaining students. It has not only improved results but students have reported enjoying completely their timely practice each lesson, knowing how much it has helped them learn and, often for the first time, given them some confidence in their mathematical knowledge.

SAM Learning

Chris, Second in Science: Its mostly good. Some activities are well written and fun, others need reviewing and improving.
Gillian, 2nd in Department of MFL: I use Sam Learning mainly for homework to consolidate learning done in class and to give students the opportunity to try out short exam style tasks for independent learning. Students find the tasks accessible and easy to navigate and appreciate getting their scores immediately. Other schools should use Sam Learning to save time in planning and marking as there is a good range of tasks available on all aspects of the course and if you want something specific which is not there, you can create your own tasks as well.
Sam Frith, Teacher of ICT & Computer Science: Really good
