The idea of the system is fantastic, however, the system still seems to have noticeable glitches that don't allow for accurate assessment. We have experienced problems with deleting classrooms and creating courses. The children often been left confused as the answer inputted has been marked wrong when it is clearly correct. The children do not use the whiteboard feature as it is too small.

I would recommend it to other Year 6 teachers who are looking for a service that enables children to revise at their own pace and on specific subjects that help them. I would also recommend it for homework as it is easy to use

    Where children are working towards the expected standard and need additional practice so that they are confident with applying knowledge to the test style questions, it can help them close the attainment gap. As long as children have access to it at home, it can also reduce the gap as parental support and knowledge is not needed.

    Over the past three years, the use of SchoolOnline has dramatically supported the teaching of Mathematics, providing teachers with a bank of step-by-step video tutorials and resources whilst reducing teacher workload. What was originally used as a tool to supplement key concepts through guided practice has now been embedded into daily teaching lessons both as whole class activities, independent work or to help correct misconceptions that may arise. As content is quality assured, teachers feel confident in using the resources provided, especially as it has helped reduce the time that it originally had taken to find, locate and tailor to the needs of their children.

    Within the school, pupils across Year 6 have access to the SchoolOnline platform. Children are encouraged to watch tutorials and discuss the methods used before applying them to a series of questions. By providing open access, it has allowed children to develop greater ownership over their learning as they actively seek out the necessary resources to develop their understanding and reduce the attainment gaps.

    Actively seeking out necessary resources can be time consuming for all teachers, especially when children are working at different levels of ability. SchoolsOnline provides teachers with the relevant tools required and as such has reduced the time it may have originally taken to plan and resource. Being able to personalise the learning has also allowed teachers to stretch their more able whilst also helping to consolidate the learning when misconceptions or errors may have arisen.

Staff are able to easily select resources and content and align this to their teaching, due to the content being high quality they don't need to spend excessive time quality assuring the content.

Having used a range of resources in the past to set home learning, develop intervention resources and give something for students to revise and refine skills, SchoolsOnline is definitely the best resource I’ve used in this respect. The video content, subsequent questions and monitoring all help to continually aid the pupil in achieving what they can at the end of KS2.

    We ran a studenttrial over Summer, comparing results on a pre trial paper with those on a post trial paper. There was a 21% increase in marks on average for participants.

    Better recall of mathematical facts. Improved problem solving skills.

    We had pupil premium students who made significant progress over the course of the trial. Gap is diminishing in the class concerned.

    After using product for a term, children improved on average by 4 points on the average point scores in Mathematics. They are more confident in answering reading questions and have a better idea on how to plan and what to include in their writing.
