The Global Teachers Institute (GTI) is a network of educators, schools, and organizations dedicated to developing high-quality teachers through school-based initial teacher education programs, international exchanges, and collaborative platforms. GTI envisions educators who facilitate learning that fosters a just, equitable, and inclusive world.

GTI’s key initiatives include the Future Leaders Programme, a school-based pre-service teacher internship that places student-teachers in primary and secondary schools while they pursue teaching qualifications through distance learning institutions. Additionally, GTI hosts the annual Axis Summit, a community of practice where educators share knowledge and experiences, and partners with Teach With Africa for the TWA Fellowship Programme, facilitating exchanges between South African educators and their counterparts in San Francisco.

Implementation of GTI’s programs involves collaboration with universities and schools to provide Future Leaders with mentorship, professional development, and practical teaching experience. The Axis Summit and TWA Fellowship Programme further support educators’ growth through shared best practices and international collaboration, enhancing teaching quality and promoting educational equity.
