What is ICTExam?
ICTExam is an assessment engine designed for real classrooms, allowing teachers to maintain the workflow they already know while removing the manual burden of typing papers, distributing them, and grading every script by hand. The platform accepts uploads of PDF, Word, or scanned image papers, using text recognition to read scans and photos before AI lays out every question inside the builder for teacher review. Alternatively, teachers can build exams from scratch on screen by selecting a class, subject, duration, and instructions, then adding questions section by section. It is built to work the way printed exams already work, but in a fully digital environment.
The platform combines automatic grading of objective answers with AI-assisted scoring for written responses and equivalent-answer recognition for mathematics. Every published exam produces a student link that requires no sign-up, alongside a separate teacher link for reviewing and grading. Timers start on launch, answers auto-save periodically, and deadlines are enforced by the backend to protect each attempt. Results are prepared student by student, and teachers confirm everything before results reach students.
Schools and universities typically implement ICTExam by connecting it to their existing LMS through the LTI 1.3 standard, with a native Moodle plugin available and launch and grade passback verified against saLTIre. Teachers launch the exam tool from a course page, students open exams without a separate login, and deep linking lets teachers embed exams straight into course pages.
