I feel it is a really useful platform, though it can be a struggle to really engage students to use it enough to make an impact. There are a lot of complaints that it's 'boring' compared to some other earning platforms, and as a teacher, it is difficult to review recent questions answered by a student (unless part of a set assignment), or to see what they're currently working on and where they're going next. (The 'view understanding' section isn't nearly as insightful as I'd like it to be.

Ashley Edwards found DoodleLearning:
  • Does not significantly reduce teacher workload
We can find it helpful to occasionally set assignments as extras for students
  • Moderately improves teaching efficiency
We can use an assignment prior to teaching to signify students who are already achieving, and those who need support
  • Slightly improves parent engagement
It can for a small number of our students, but it can be difficult to encourage parents to sign up to view their child's progress - perhaps too many additional steps.
  • Moderately improves attainment
Again, I only find this with a minority of very engaged students who complete well over and above their target stars for each week.
  • Slightly builds student knowledge
For students who are sufficiently engaged, yes.
