They don’t pay teachers, ignore countless emails and blatantly lie. To anyone thinking of working here, don’t.

I was a student in MISY from 2012-2017 and I would like to share my personal student  experience at MISY. I particularly would like to emphasise on the quality of the minority of teaching staff at MISY. Some teaching staff of MISY lacks the abilities to provide teaching service that meets the standards, values and principles of an international school. They would create a hierarchy of students in classrooms based on grades and performance in class exams. Teaching staff were extremely biased with academically talented students against poor performing students. Overtime, this system would repeat and academically talented students would get more favoured and lacking students would just become more helpless. I am well aware that every teaching institution has unintentional bias relating to students, however, I would like to emphasize that the degree of bias from some teaching staff of MISY is unacceptable. Furthermore I would like to address the quality of three particular teaching staffs of MISY. Espie( Filipino, Female) Rose (Filipino, Female) and Colin(British, Male). I would like to address the lack of patience from Espie when a poorly performing student asks simple questions in the classroom. Her actions and gestures as a response were implying that I was asking stupid questions. Help was not given efficiently but rather impatiently. Her answers did not also make sense. She was not qualified enough to be a teacher because she lacks the most important characteristic of teaching staff. This is her lack of ability to differentiate between her private life and teaching life at school. Her emotions in the classroom and towards students were driven by how her personal life is going on. This creates dangers and uncertainties for 12-16year old students. She would also accuse innocent students of disrespecting her and the classroom. She would unconsciously compare a poor performing student against an academically excellent student with privileged backgrounds with her actions and words. This would make a poor performance become more miserable and helpless. Moving on to Rose, she also possesses some of the characteristics and qualities of Espie. Rose would occasionally make fun of poor performing students infront of the classroom. Lastly moving on to Colin, I would like to mention that he is a bully. Colin would extremely favor female students in the classroom over male students. Colin occasionally showcases a behaviour of a bully. On one occasion, he would unnecessarily kick and yell students out of the classroom and vigorously throw away their backpacks with them. This would be labelled as abuse in a professional institution.

Due to the deliberate abuse and quality of some teaching staff of MISY, this has partially affected my childhood and my thought processes and thinking abilities I have today.
