Review of Sumdog Maths

It is a great independent tool for all users. It can be completely individual and used as a pre and post assessment tool. It helps identify gaps which is help as a class moves up and saves time marking. The children all engage in it and like to use it in their spare time, as well as in class lessons.

- Builds student knowledge“Students can identify areas for development and then we can assign them work to focus on that skill, allowing practise and means we often see improvements.”
- Improves teaching efficiency“We use it as a learning tool. We can see where there are gaps across the class or for small groups. This allows us to refocus on a misunderstood concept, or have small group interventions for those who need it.”
- Reduces teacher workload“We use the diagnostic assessment and can set end of topic assessments. This saves time marking and create easy to use, instant graphs and charts to easily identify areas for development or challenge.”
- Improves attainment“We believe it can be used as avery helpful learning too to improve attainment. When used as a weekly timetabled slot, clear focus and recap time with students and teachers. We also use it to discuss next steps with children so they understand and can identify them themselves. We discuss accuracy as well and heighlight the improtance of correct answers, not time!”
