I gave Alps a score of 10 because it is intuitive, informative and easy to use, while offering considerable depth of analysis. It makes complex performance data accessible and helps identify the key questions to explore around quality assurance, attainment, student progress and reporting. As Director of Studies, I particularly value how effectively it supports focused, evidence-informed conversations with middle leaders, helping us translate analysis into clear priorities for teaching and school improvement. The excellent support and training have also strengthened my confidence in using the platform and leading its implementation across the school.

Christian Brady found Alps:
  • Improves attainment
“As Director of Studies, I am leading the implementation of Alps across our middle leadership team, embedding its use to inform teaching practice, pedagogy and quality assurance. Although it is too early to attribute measurable improvements in attainment directly to its use, Alps is already helping us analyse examination outcomes in greater depth, identify differences between subjects and student groups, and frame more focused discussions about improvement. We are using these insights to inform departmental action plans, review curriculum provision and identify priorities for targeted support and challenge. This is helping us establish a clearer link between analysis of attainment and the practical steps leaders and teachers can take to improve future outcomes.”
  • Improves school processes
“As Director of Studies, I am embedding Alps into our examination review, data tracking and reporting processes, with middle leaders taking an increasingly active role in interpreting and using the findings. For examination reviews, Alps provides a consistent framework for exploring subject outcomes and differences between student groups. This supports more focused discussions with Heads of Department and helps translate findings into departmental priorities, curriculum adjustments and changes to teaching practice. We are also developing its use in ongoing data tracking to identify students requiring additional support or challenge and review their progress over time. For reporting, the clear visual summaries and detailed analysis help us communicate strengths and areas for development to school leaders, strengthening the evidence underpinning our quality assurance and improvement planning.”
  • Improves teaching efficiency
“Alps is helping us make more purposeful use of the time devoted to analysing performance and planning next steps. The ability to explore subjects and student groups within one platform makes it easier to identify patterns and prioritise areas requiring closer attention. As we embed its use with middle leaders, this is supporting more focused conversations about teaching, curriculum planning and intervention. Teachers can use these insights alongside assessment evidence and their knowledge of students to target support and challenge more precisely. Although we have not yet measured time savings, the immediate benefit is a clearer connection between data analysis and practical teaching decisions.”
