• Builds student knowledge“Help teaching spelling patterns and decoding tricky words”
• Provides school data“Teachers are aware of what year group the children are working within and helps to identify gaps the children have with their reading”
• Improves attainment“A few years ago, children in year 6 who were put on lexia all passed their sats. Children are making huge progress on lexia across other year groups. The fact we have a lot of children coming off of lexia as a program because they are now working at stanine 5 or within their year group is great.”
• Reduces attainment gap“For some children it is closing the gap, but we still have a few children who are consistently on lexia and still working significantly behind.”
