I would definitely rate Mathswatch 10 out of 10. Both my students and I have benefited enormously from the platform. The videos are concise, engaging, and easy to follow, with exceptionally clear explanations. The GCSE exam reports and extensive bank of interactive questions have been transformative for teaching and learning. I have personally used Mathswatch since 2010 and have consistently achieved outstanding GCSE results with my students. In my experience, Mathswatch is one of the most effective mathematics learning platforms available. It supports teachers, empowers students to learn independently, and has a significant positive impact on student attainment. I would highly recommend it to any school looking to improve outcomes in mathematics.

Mohammed Shahid Ahmed found MathsWatch:
  • Reduces teacher workload
As a mathematics department, we have found Mathswatch to be an invaluable resource. One of its greatest strengths is that it provides a comprehensive Scheme of Work (SOW), eliminating the need for Heads of Department to create one from scratch. Teachers can easily follow the SOW by using the clip numbers and accompanying videos to deliver the content required for GCSE Mathematics and beyond. The platform's automated marking system for homework, interactive questions, and GCSE exam papers is extremely effective. In particular, the detailed exam reports help identify students' strengths and weaknesses, enabling targeted intervention and support. Personally, I have benefited greatly from these features, as they have significantly reduced my workload without compromising the quality of teaching and learning.
  • Improves attainment
The 1 Minute Maths feature is a powerful tool for reinforcing and retaining prior knowledge. When used alongside the interactive questions, it enables students to improve their attainment independently. Furthermore, if a student misses a lesson, they can easily catch up by watching the relevant video tutorial. Students can also use the GCSE exam reports to identify areas for improvement, revisit the associated videos, and complete the interactive questions, thereby strengthening their understanding and improving attainment.
  • Provides school data
At our school, we set weekly homework tasks and end-of-term examinations through Mathswatch. The resulting data plays a crucial role in report writing, monitoring student progress, identifying candidates for the UK Mathematics Trust (UKMT) challenges, selecting students for intervention and Gifted & Talented programmes.
  • Reduces attainment gap
Students who struggle with mathematics can revisit videos on topics they find difficult, while more able students can access higher-grade content to extend their learning. The structured progression of clips by grade ensures that all students, regardless of ability, can use the videos and interactive questions to close attainment gaps and make sustained progress.
