The company behind this programme is incredibly supportive and their knowledge of how to support children with difficulties means that ALL children can achieve with this method of learning to read.
Kate Bodle found Reading Unlocked:
- Significantly improves attainment“We have only recently started using it but the impact in a short time with some of our pupils has been staggering. The focus not just on reading but phonological awareness and spelling all combined means the child is immersed in the learning.”
- Significantly improves school processes“Children can get on with their reading at their own level, it guides them through and is clear to see where they need to focus next.”

The children love this programme. It is never hard to get reluctant children on the programme as they enjoy it so much and don't feel like they are doing 'work.' The sessions are fun, the children can work on them on their own and they can check and repeat if they do not get it right the first time. The support given by the makers of the programme has been absolutely excellent, and I would highly recommend it as a programme for struggling readers.
Jenny found Reading Unlocked:
- Significantly improves attainment“The children who have been working on the programme have all made progress. They have worked on the programme both at school and at home and most of the children have improved their reading skills by at least 4 months. These are SEN children who have always struggled with their reading.”
- Moderately improves school processes“For children who are poor readers and difficult to assess using school tests, this programme gives us a bench mark of where the children are.”
