What is Would You Rather Be?

Pupils answer 10-15 minutes of quick-fire 'would you rather be...' questions and our platform calculates the careers they’d be happiest in, based on their interests, skills and qualifications - and takes the impact of COVID-19 and the future of work into account.

The website then generates hyper-personalised pathways into each career for that individual pupil with to-do lists including time, cost and available funding, enabling young people to make informed decisions.

We have consciously designed Would You Rather Be to be simple and beautiful, with nudges and gamification throughout. We designed with accessibility in mind too - especially for visual impairment and dyslexia - and are well-optimised for all devices and operating systems.

We’ve had over 70,000 users to date, and have robustly tested with a diverse range of different cohorts across the education system.

Try it out for yourself at wouldyouratherbe.com. We would also be happy to arrange a free trial with a class so you can see the impact we have first hand.

INTRO FROM OUR CEO:

Hello! We're Would You Rather Be.

Our award-winning website is specifically designed to be used in the classroom on whatever device pupils have available, in however long you have to talk about careers - whether that's a dedicated careers session in an IT lab, or short tutor sessions on smartphones.

Whatever the case, Would You Rather Be is designed to inspire our next generation and directly help Career Leaders tick Gatsby Benchmarks.

Using software to improve Careers Education is something we care passionately about - every member of our team has changed careers after starting down the wrong path, so we deeply understand the importance of getting it right and the power of doing something you love.

Together, our team has worked at Google, Microsoft, Facebook and Monzo, and we've written books and given TED talks on careers guidance. We are mission driven and work collaboratively with schools, colleges and universities. That means if you feel there is something missing in our app, we'll go away and build it.

We came runner-up of the national CareerTech Prize, supported by the Department for Education and Nesta. We are affiliated with the Careers Development Institute and run research projects with Oxford University.

We hope you'll enjoy using our app with your pupils.
