• Builds student knowledge“Unifrog has significantly improved pupils’ understanding of post-16 and post-18 pathways, including A levels, T Levels, apprenticeships and university routes. Pupils can clearly explain entry requirements, progression routes and the skills needed for different careers. For example, Year 9 pupils are able to make more informed subject choices by understanding how GCSE options link to future pathways. Pupils also show increased awareness of Labour Market Information, using salary data and growth sectors to support realistic and informed career decisions.”
• Reduces teacher workload“Overall, Unifrog has not significantly increased teacher workload. In fact, the work placements tool has made a substantial positive difference by streamlining the administration of placements, automating approvals and centralising documentation, communication and safeguarding checks. This has reduced time spent on emails and paperwork and improved efficiency and oversight for staff.”
• Improves attainment“Unifrog supports improved pupil attainment by increasing motivation, focus and engagement through clearer understanding of how learning links to future pathways. Pupils make more informed subject and pathway choices, leading to greater commitment and progress in their studies. For example, pupils who can see the relevance of GCSE and post-16 subjects to their career goals are more likely to set purposeful targets, engage in independent research and produce higher-quality written work such as CVs, personal statements and applications, supporting stronger outcomes over time.”
• Improves parent engagement“Parent engagement remains an area for development. While Unifrog provides high-quality resources that parents can access alongside their child, levels of parent engagement are currently variable. Where parents do engage, it supports more informed conversations at home about subject choices, pathways and post-16 options. The platform offers clear opportunities to improve engagement, and we are exploring ways to increase parental awareness and use of Unifrog through targeted communications, parent events and guidance on how parents can support career discussions at home.”
• Reduces attainment gap“Unifrog supports a reduction in the attainment gap by providing all pupils with equal access to high-quality careers information, guidance and opportunities, regardless of background. Disadvantaged pupils benefit in particular from clear explanations of pathways, entry requirements and progression routes that they may not otherwise access. By increasing aspiration, motivation and informed decision-making, Unifrog helps pupils make realistic and purposeful choices, supporting sustained engagement with learning and contributing to narrowing the attainment gap over time.”
