I’ve given Maths‑Whizz a score of 10/10 because it has had a genuinely positive impact on both our pupils and our staff. The children really enjoy using the platform, and the interactive games, characters and challenges keep them motivated to learn. They also respond incredibly well to the incentives and rewards, such as credits, certificates and progress badges, which encourage consistent engagement and help build their confidence in maths. From a school perspective, the platform adapts to each child’s level, meaning every pupil is appropriately challenged and supported. It also reduces staff workload, particularly with homework, as everything is self‑marking and progress is automatically tracked. As a result, teachers can focus more on planning, support and high‑quality teaching rather than administration. Overall, Maths‑Whizz is a highly effective and enjoyable tool that benefits pupils, parents and staff — a well‑deserved 10/10.

Helen Britten found Maths-Whizz by Whizz Education :
  • Provides school data
As a school, we have found the Maths‑Whizz platform to be a valuable tool in strengthening our understanding of pupils’ attainment and progress across KS1 and KS2. The system gives us clear, accessible data that highlights individual learning gaps as well as broader class‑level trends. This has supported our teachers in targeting interventions more precisely and in monitoring the impact of these over time. What I particularly value is the consistency of information it provides: because pupils work independently on the platform, it offers an additional, reliable layer of assessment that complements teacher judgement. Overall, Maths‑Whizz has helped us build a more rounded picture of each child’s mathematical development and has contributed positively to our whole‑school data analysis and planning.
  • Reduces attainment gap
Maths‑Whizz often highlights gaps that may not emerge as clearly in classroom assessments. For example, a child who appears confident in lessons might still struggle with foundations such as number bonds or regrouping in subtraction. The platform flags these gaps quickly, allowing teachers to intervene before they widen.
  • Reduces teacher workload
Maths‑Whizz automatically adapts to each child’s level, so teachers don’t need to create several versions of homework to meet different needs. This is particularly helpful in mixed‑ability classes where differentiation can significantly increase preparation time. Because pupils complete their Maths‑Whizz activities online, teachers do not need to mark homework or chase incomplete work in the same way. The platform automatically records efforts, accuracy and progress, freeing staff from the time‑consuming task of marking multiple worksheets.
  • Improves teaching efficiency
Quicker identification of pupils needing intervention Teachers no longer rely solely on book scrutiny or in‑class questioning to spot gaps. The platform surfaces this information immediately, meaning staff spend less time diagnosing and more time delivering the right support.
  • Improves parent engagement
The parent workshops delivered by Andy Clay have had a noticeable effect on parents’ confidence in supporting maths at home. Many parents have fed back that the sessions helped them understand how Maths‑Whizz works, what their child sees, and how the adaptive pathway supports learning. As a result, parents feel more empowered and better informed, which has strengthened the home–school partnership.
