It's good, but the lesson bit of it needs more training/explaining for it to be used properly in our setting. Teachers prioritise their lessons and so don't have a lot of time to master new software.

Jo Kitchener found Xello:
  • Moderately improves attainment
It seems to make a difference when pupils have an end goal, they can be quite apathetic until a career is pointed out to them that piques their interest. Then they start to get serious about what they need to do to get there. It definitely helps motivate.
  • Moderately builds student knowledge
It helps give them an idea of where to go for courses that interest them, and also highlights careers they may not have considered or even know about beforehand.
  • Does not significantly improve teaching efficiency and productivity
  • Slightly reduces teacher workload
It's a good PHSCCE tool and required very little planning initially.
