Ecole Bilingue Internationale de Haute-Savoie (EBiHS)

Since my children are educated in a bilingual school, I tried to enroll my three children in EBIHS school for the start of the school year, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. Initially, I was informed that there were no places available, but five minutes later I was called back to say that 3 places had been released, including an exception in CM1, although the class is complete. I understand that withdrawals can happen, but this speed reinforced my feeling of a lack of clarity in the management of registrations.

On the day of the tests, I was surprised to discover that my children were put in competition with their school friends, without us having been informed of this format in advance. This put them in an uncomfortable and destabilizing situation. If the school had taken the time to explain this procedure to us, my children would have been better prepared for this context.

The results of the tests were communicated to us quickly, with the mention "their level is too far from the demands of our bilingual program". This seemed inconsistent to me knowing that they came from a bilingual school where they had always obtained good results. In addition, the test, billed at €50 per child, was never accompanied by a delivery of copies or detailed feedback, which left me perplexed as to the transparency of this process.

During the discussion with the educational director following this test, she insinuated that my daughter in first grade, who is having some reading difficulties, could have vision or hearing problems. However, this remark was made without basis or medical examination. This type of suggestion, formulated so lightly, is in my opinion unacceptable and inappropriate.

A few days after this refusal, to my great surprise the school contacted me again, not to re-evaluate my children, but to suggest that I try the process again the following year. I saw this as purely commercial. Furthermore, I learned that during the summer other students, sometimes with an academic level similar to or lower than that of my children, had been accepted after the fact, probably to fill the new class opened at the last minute. This reinforces my impression that admission decisions are influenced more by financial imperatives than by objective academic criteria.

In summary, I think that the EBIHS school seems more concerned with its financial interests than with the success and development of its students. The lack of transparency, the questionable selection processes and the inconsistency in admissions lead me to strongly advise against this establishment to any parent concerned about the quality of education and the development of their children.

A remarkable school, both in terms of the quality of teaching and pedagogy.
The teachers are very available to the children but also to the parents. The values ​​transmitted are essential in today's world, it is not only about learning but also about knowing how to be.
The numerous educational projects and the multicultural and multidisciplinary side make it a valuable place to live and very suitable for taking children towards maturity.

An exceptional school where we not only learn to count, speak and read in English but we also learn kindness, tolerance and difference.
For the moment I only have my oldest in school and she was lucky to have exceptional teachers and childminders. It's a real budget to register your children here and I am well aware that my daughters will be privileged (and they too are aware of it :)) but if you are hesitating not for financial reasons then don't hesitate any longer . This school, its teaching staff and these three directors are top-notch. Thanks to them !

Our children have both been educated at EBIHS since preschool and we appreciate the high quality of teaching! It's incredible to hear your children speak English with such ease even though we are a 100% French-speaking family.

This school is just incredible! I am impressed by the level of English already acquired in kindergarten but also in other subjects such as learning mathematics...
The teaching team is attentive and very caring. I am very happy that my children were able to join EBIHS.
