Everything about this scheme is brilliant - the staff were fantastic and delivered the training at a good, understandable pace, and the training facility was interesting as it was their HQ and not just a hired space. I have learned how to use a 3D printer and apply that to a school setting, and the children have subsequently completed a project from the design stage to its conclusion (and loved every second of it). I hope I get to partake in another similar project in the future.

Tom Petersons found The CREATE Education Project:
  • Significantly increases student collaboration
Some more capable students were offering to assist those struggling - creating and strengthening bonds.
  • Slightly improves teaching efficiency
  • Significantly improves teacher knowledge
Before the training, I had little knowledge about practical uses of 3D printing in every day life, and almost no knowledge of how to use a 3D printer.
  • Moderately improves attainment
When there is a physical product at the end of a project, there is always a feeling of achievement - this was certainly seen with the children.
  • Significantly builds student knowledge
After discussing how 3D printers would probably become more common in the workplace, more than one child came to me the following day to discuss how they had researched 3D printing food, or ask further questions about other uses (mainly the potential to print human organs).
