Teacher/ Computing and digital learning lead

Yew Tree Primary School, England

Used EducationCity occasionally for 3-4 years

Although it has a lot of good features it's not suitable to use instead of lesson activities. We usually use it for homework. It's good to set tasks for children working below ARE but some objectives are too broad and it's not specific enough.

Rebecca found EducationCity:
  • Moderately reduces teacher workload
Tasks completed are automatically marked. There are Maths, Science and English assessments. Activities are sorted based on objectives so easy to find.
  • Slightly improves teaching efficiency
There are learn screens which can be used to support teaching new concepts.
  • Does not significantly improve parent engagement
It can be used to set homework which parents can support with.
  • Does not significantly improve attainment
Once assessments are completed individual revision activities can be given to the children.
  • Does not significantly build student knowledge
Activities take children through new knowledge and then they practise the skills.
