Its an exceptional resources to seed ideas. however since the Pan-Canadian expectations vary from the original source documents some triage of the content is required. This takes time. The one thing teachers claim not to have a surplus of. The score of 9 accounts for this 'slight' inconvenience.

J Williams found Encounter Edu:
  • Moderately reduces teacher workload
Since it is written with a different education system in mind, teachers will need to find time to triangulate the context and learning tasks to their own contexts. I do that up front work, then share with with teachers showing that there is good resources available. They do not have to create the lesson concept from scratch. It's a small time saver.
  • Significantly improves teacher knowledge
The guidance / background documents provide essential information that many educators (generalist) do not know or have not learned. The backgrounders build the teachers pedagogical content knowledge for marine science and related technologies.
  • Slightly improves attainment
I do not understand this question.
  • Slightly builds student knowledge
since I work with teachers, I would have to say , yes.
