Used iSAMS by IRIS daily for 1-2 years

We are yet to use the system fully; however, the set up is very much 'old' by design - looks like it was an early 1990s Windows set up. Other systems are more intuitive and use fewer clicks to get the information required. I think the dashboard could be less cluttered and simpler to use. For example, the timetable appears in my day view and it would be obvious to be able to click on it and it open the register. However, there is no link and you have to click a different area to open the register. The modular nature can be frustrating as schools are not modular by design and cross-referencing of information is so often used. There just appears to be 2/3 clicks too many required when the trying to access information. A small but frustrating thing is is the attention to detail e.g. in the search function Pupil Manager asks for Forename and then Surname; Pupil Profile is Surname and Forename. It is a small thing but frustrating.

  • Provides school data
    At the moment, we are only using it for registration but it is providing valuable report data.
  • Improves parent engagement
  • Improves school processes
    Again, it will do moving forwards as we begin to access its full capability
  • Improves behaviour or wellbeing
    Not at the moment, but it will assuming we can get the reports we need from it.
  • Reduces teacher workload
    Not at present. Greater automation of reports will be crucial for this. For example, an attendance report that is autogenerated at the end of every week would help hugely. I am hopeful that the system will begin to use such capabilities as this is to be expected now.
