Used Kami daily for 5+ years

Mar 2025

Our school been using Kami extensively since 2017. The Kami tool is our ‘Swiss knife’. Thanks to Kami many teachers can focus more on their core job, strengthen the learning process. We are using Kami in several ways in our schools. First of all, our teachers are using Kami frequently for formative assessment and feedback. With the Kami extension in Google Chrome and Classroom, it’s very easy to convert an existing Google or Microsoft Word document to a pdf document and add a Kami task with a copy of the pdf document for every student to a Google Classroom course. In our school, teachers are using Kami tasks in Classroom for entry and exit tickets, solving all kinds of exercises and questions, …. Kami is a very user-friendly tool, so the students can easily type or write the answers with a stylus pen. For language tasks, our students often add audio and video comments. Our teachers are using Kami also as a digitale interactive whiteboard, as an interactive digital course, …Kami is also a great collaboration tool for secure student group work. A big advantage of Kami group tasks is that the students of a group are unable to delete annotations from other team members! There are also some additional great features like the many useful templates for Kami documents in the template library (especially the graphic organizers like mindmaps, Cornell scheme and worksheets), the split and merge and the OCR function. If teachers, IT coordinators, headteachers, … would dive a little bit deeper in the pedagogical/didactical features of Kami, they would realise that Kami could be a useful tool for every school!

The fact that your students are using Kami for everything from entry and exit tickets to group work, language tasks, and interactive lessons is exactly what we strive for—supporting all students in engaging and meaningful ways. Thank you for recognising the pedagogical potential of Kami—we couldn’t agree more that it’s a tool for every school!

Thanks to the ‘Class View’ feature the teachers can watch live the answers from the students and they can scroll quickly in one window from one student to another. This is a real time saver for our teachers. The Class View Kami function allows the teachers to visualise the learning process, give feedback very quickly and change or differentiate the lessons. The Class View is also very useful for summative assessment. The teachers can correct question per question and add text, audio and video feedback manually or add previously saved feedback from the annotation bank. • Significantly reduces teacher workload

  • Significantly increases student collaboration
Kami is also a great collaboration tool for secure student group work. A big advantage of Kami group tasks is that the students of a group are unable to delete annotations from other team members! The teachers also have a nice overview of which students have entered which annotations. If necessary, a teacher can hide annotations of some students. The students can also respond quickly to annotations form other group members with the Comment function (text-, audio or video feedback)
  • Significantly improves attainment
Kami has a lot of inclusive features to support students with learning problems. Our students are using a lot the read aloud and the text to speech function. Also the audio and video comments of the teachers in a pdf document are very helpful for the students with for example dyslexia. The new AI ‘Understand’ functions help students understand the text better with options like translate, explain, relevel and summarize text documents. These AI functions are excellent inclusive features especially for our non native speaking students. Thanks to the Kami Class View, teachers can visualise the learning process quickly and thoroughly, give feedback very quickly and change or differentiate the lessons to achieve the learning goals better.
  • Significantly saves school money
Thanks to Kami, teachers print fewer courses, tasks, tests and exams. So print costs for students were greatly reduced
