I think the Creative Computing Curriculum is very well designed and engaging for all pupils. Pupils not only increase their knowledge about particular subjects, but also develop a vast array of skills which are relevant to the digital world children are growing up in. Budget restraints in schools can make it hard to acquire enough of the apps and mobile technology needed to allow each child to carry out projects independently, although there are now lots of alternatives provided by the curriculum if iPads are not always available (e.g. web based projects).

James Hartmann found mr-andrews-online-creative-computing-curriculum:
  • Significantly improves attainment
Children's attainment has improved across the wider curriculum. For example, pupils in Year 5 have developed their animation skills - through this project pupils also developed story boarding skills which impacted on Literacy attainment.
  • Significantly improves teacher knowledge and skills
The supporting documents which are included as part of the Creative Computing Curriculum have been used by staff to develop their knowledge on a range of computing terminology. This increased teacher knowledge has led to children using this terminology with greater independence.
