It is vaery easy to make quizzes manually in Socrative, and I can share them with colleagues, but I will be exploring other options because I need better upload to the LMS at my university, which is changing to D2L Brightspace in the Fall.

Reply from Socrative:Hi there. Thanks for the review of the Socrative app. I'm sorry to hear the app isn't quite meeting the needs of your teaching and learning environment. I appreciate the feedback about the need for more bulk actions when it comes to importing quiz results into your LMS. I can see how that would be frustrating. I'll share this feedback with our product team. - Dan from Socrative
KDenniston found Socrative:
  • Does not significantly reduce teacher workload
I use Socrative to track attendance because students cannot change their answer after typing into the quiz causing issues when I want to use the quiz for a grade. I upload each quiz result separately into my university's LMS. This takes too much time. It would be better to link directly to the LMS or collate the quiz results into one excel file on Socrative. This would allow me to upload one file instead of 20 at the end of the term. Also, when I used the roster, there was always 1 or 2 students who could not connect to the quiz, and I have stopped using the roster. This wastes more of my time when I try to upload. I am exploring an alternative such as MS Forms to see if I can save time doing this.
  • Slightly improves teaching efficiency
It takes time from lecture. I wish I could use a test bank to output the questions and upload them directly. Having to use a template is problematic.
  • Does not significantly improve attainment
  • Does not significantly build student knowledge
It allows more interaction, but it is not reliable for quizzes.
