Compare Edumate vs Evidence Me

Michael Benson, Teacher: I find Edumate frustrating to use becuase pages load slowly, pages often crash and data is often lost when entering reporting comments, leading to a need to re enter data which wastes hours of my time. I am disappointed in the service provided and cannot recommend it to others.

Jessica Reddish, Teacher: Overall, I don't think we use Evidence Me in the way it was originally intended, so it isn't a perfect fit for our needs. However, it is still the best option we've found. I understand that Evidence Me is designed to work as a timeline of observations, which is particularly beneficial in EYFS settings. In our school, however, we use it more as an end-of-year scrapbook to celebrate children's experiences. Because of this, uploading everything at the end of the year is very time-consuming. It would be incredibly helpful if there was a bulk upload feature where I could upload multiple photos and then tag the individual children within each image. At the moment, I have to create a separate observation for every single photo. This is because if I upload multiple photos into one observation, I can only tag the same group of children across the entire observation. In reality, each photo often contains different children, so I can't accurately tag them without uploading each image individually. This makes the process extremely repetitive and time-consuming, especially when uploading a large number of photos at the end of the year.

Lor, Teacher: Only fit for purpose for data. It is virtually useless for engaging parents and not easy to use at all on an iPad.

Kim Britton, Assistant Headteacher: Whilst the app is one of its kind in terms of data collection and the reports produced, overall the functionality of the app needs to be greatly improved. Simple tweaks would make it much more efficient and user friendly.
