Love it, found it inspirational.

LJ Annandale found Lyfta:
  • Significantly builds student knowledge
Sympathy for other cultures, awareness of global citizenship, human stories allowed children to identify issues in a non ‘lecturing’ way’, spontaneous debates, deep discussions, impact of global goals in action, compare and contrast activities.
  • Significantly improves teaching efficiency and productivity
    Lesson plans and ideas avail
  • Slightly reduces teacher workload
Any teacher, who wants to inspire a class, will always have a heavy workload even if resources are amazing as teachers need to prepare in order to deliver a great lesson. But having all the ideas avail and easy to search does save time.
  • Significantly improves teacher knowledge and skills
I learn from listening to the stories too and was often moved like the children. Plus it embeds global goals
  • Not significantly saves school money
None. It’s very costly, particularly for a small rural school like ours. Not in our budget.

Dec 2020

I have already recommended Lyfta to my colleagues in both primary and secondary schools

Sarah Lockhart found Lyfta:
  • Significantly builds student knowledge
Pupils are able to identify and discuss complex political issues (communism, conservatism) through the basic introduction given on the Lyfta platform.
  • Significantly improves teaching efficiency and productivity
I have been able to plan a 12 week unit of work (1 hour contact time with pupils per week) without the endless hours which can be spent planning lessons from scratch. This resource has given a great foundation for my Citizenship lessons.
  • Significantly reduces teacher workload
Ready-to-use lesson plans and assemblies pre-made on the site.
  • Significantly improves teacher knowledge and skills
It can improve teacher knowledge of different settings through visiting storyworlds and meeting the people there however I would say the biggest knowledge impacts for me have been in learning about how my students respond to new settings, meeting new people and being compassionate, empathetic people (or not, as the case may be sometimes). It's very interesting to see which storyworlds or groups of people they react best/worst to.
  • Slightly saves school money
The funded training run by British Council has been so invaluable for our school in accessing this amazing resource but I'm concerned school leadership won't see a subscription as being a priority once that trial ends.

Nov 2020

I have been blown away by what Lyfta has put together. This is a fantastic platform that can be used across all subject areas. The significant impact on student personal development is huge and for me being able to show our students what diversity truly looks like, Lyfta certainly does that. The stories are wonderful and emotive, giving students the opportunity to be part of the lives of strangers they will meet around the globe. If you have yet to see what Lyfta does, please do have a look. You will not regret it.

Zena found Lyfta:
  • Significantly builds student knowledge
Knowledge around the 17 SDGs have been hugely impacted on. None of the students knew about them. Since introducing them to these goals, students have independently researched into the ones they feel more connected as part of their stretch project.
  • Moderately improves teaching efficiency and productivity
Having a bank of lessons plans to support my planning of sessions has been invaluable. What I really like about Lyfta is that I have the option to duplicate lessons and create, develop my own through the platform. This has saved me a lot of time.
  • Significantly reduces teacher workload
Very similar to my previous response. These ease of the platform and the way that I am able to quickly set work for students to access either remotely or in school reduces the time it would take for me to create, print and set work. The lessons are high tailored too.
  • Significantly improves teacher knowledge and skills
I cannot tell you how much I have discovered since using Lyfta. Browsing through the stories and videos around the world, I feel has given me a better insight into the cultural, traditional, religious diversity of our planet. Lyfta has truly opened my eyes to how we can further support our students to find their place in the world.
  • Moderately saves school money
Having the discount through training funded by the BC certainly helps, however what this platform offers in one place is huge. To buy in the various aspects of Lyfta from other companies would cost a lot more.
