Home Learning | Parent Access Anyone can create the account. To ensure children stay safe online - not just in school, but at home as well - engaging parents and carers is a vital component for schools in meeting their statutory safeguarding requirements, in line with DfE guidance and legislation. The DfE emphasises the importance of education settings working in harmony with parents and carers to support pupil wellbeing and improve communication pathways. Resources for parents and carers include our world-renowned Wake Up Wednesday guides. Delivered weekly via podcasts as well as downloadable posters, the guides cover wide-ranging topics of concern, including online safety and mental health and wellbeing. We also offer free online safety courses, presented by Myleene Klass, offering a superb starting point for parents keen to enhance their children's online safety. Feedback from our members highlights that one of the main reasons for choosing us was the capability to promote parental engagement through our comprehensive resources and award-winning mobile app. |

We have been impressed with the support from the team and the quality of content.
Dan Roberts found The National College:
- Significantly saves school money“As we can run asynchronous PLD, we can now help our staff to go home on the earlier buses with our students, so it is a saving on only running one bus. It also has saved us time for SLT/MLs on planning PLD, which means they are using their time with students.”
- Significantly improves teacher knowledge“We have embarked on a whole school instructional coaching model, and being able to upskill coaches via this course on the National College platform has been highly effective. We have also improved teachers knowledge and understanding of mental health (for students and staff). Finally, the subject specific pedagogy that can be offered is great.”
- Significantly improves school processes“It has made the delivery of professional learning & development much more effective.”
- Significantly improves parent engagement“All of our parents now have access to high quality resources on internet safety - something they have been asking for more support with.”
- Significantly improves attainment“While it has only been a short while, we expect the upskilling of our staff to translate into improved progress and attainment for our students; after all, this is why we do professional learning & development!”

TNC offers a wide range of webinars and courses which increases knowledge and understanding. To make it impactful, schools should also structure the webinars in a collaborative way - small groups, discussions, what would that look like in our context etc. to really get the best from the platform.
Laura Stansfield found The National College:
- Moderately saves school money“When you consider the cost of external providers delivering in-person sessions, although it can be more impactful, it's expensive for a Group of schools when only specialising in 1 area. Whereas TNC is a good 'one stop shop' that all our staff can access.”
- Moderately improves teacher knowledge“It's used when delivering InSeT sessions or time is protected for staff to find webinars/ courses linked to their appraisal targets.”
- Slightly improves school processes“Same as above”
- Moderately improves parent engagement“Schools share the 'Wake Up Wednesdays' with parents.”
- Slightly improves attainment“We wouldn't have sufficient data to support this statement yet.”
