It's a great tool with limited features. I'd like to see the ability to launch more than one quiz at a time for the same class, the option to schedule open and close dates/times, and question banks.
Tim found Socrative:
- Moderately reduces teacher workload“Socrative saves time grading objective quizzes and tests.”
- Moderately improves teaching efficiency“Launching quizzes is quick and easy. Reviewing reading quizzes with student answer/score data is very helpful. I like to show students the distribution on each question and have them discuss/explain why some people may have chosen the wrong answer.”
- Slightly improves attainment“I'm not sure what you mean by "attainment" - but assume you mean mastery. I use Socrative as an accountability tool, and it is very effective. Kids know we'll be having reading quizzes, so they're compelled to complete their reading assignment. Creating quizzes is quick, and the format is aesthetically pleasing.”
- Moderately builds student knowledge“Students get to hear the logic behind difficult questions, especially when I use the answer review feature. Sometimes I also write model responses with quotes from the text, which gives students something to reach for.”

I like socrative but it is missing some key components that would make it better. I wish teachers could create other types of questions such as fill in the blank, or drag and drop, or labeling a picture. Also equations need to be extended to the answers as well as the questions so students can type in answers with exponents and subscripts. It is important for science questions.

It does what it does very well. I'd like to see some customization for exit tickets and maybe things I could add to the home page to launch quickly. I also wish it integrated with Canvas better.
