• Moderately reduces attainment gap“It is helping lower strainers recognise sounds to help them blend in their reading. With more frequent use and if we could afford to send cards home I think that the impact could be even more significant.”
• Moderately improves parent engagement“It means that I don’t have to access videos on pronunciation of the sounds or send links to websites to parents- instead the resources are in one place. I think if there were short clips added to the card with other examples of words containing the sounds and the sound in the word highlighted this could help extend the children so they could create sentences or captions using these words.”
• Slightly reduces teacher workload“As I’m the only one currently using them I can’t really comment on this yet but I’m hoping to demonstrate their use to parents at our phonics meeting next week in the hope that some may want to look into it as well as other colleagues to.”
