Review of GoRead

Oct 2020

The idea behind GoRead is excellent. It is a central record of children's home and school reading that cannot get lost (like the paper reading record books).

Verity Graham found GoRead:
  • Slightly improves attainment
  • Slightly builds student knowledge
  • Significantly improves teaching efficiency and productivity
It is quicker to record individual reading with children. GoRead means that there does not have to be a paper folder to flick through and find children's records.
  • Significantly saves school money
A reading record book costs £1 per book (approx.) and some children may go through 3 or 4 books per year (either due to finishing them or through losing them).
  • Significantly improves parental engagement
Some parents prefer to type and use technology rather than hand write comments.
