Used Lexia Reading Skills Software weekly for 7-12 months

Lexia has been incredibly successful within our school. As a mainstream state school with a wide range of ability and SEN, Lexia has provided us with a reading and literacy strategy that supports all students as they transition from primary school and for those who continue to use Lexia into KS4, who struggle with persistent literacy difficulties that require intervention beyond quality first teaching. Monica Babuta, who has been my contact at Lexia has made the process of shifting to Lexia easy and successful. Supportive training and team-calls with Monica have been invaluable.

- Reduces attainment gap“Students with dyslexia have benefited significantly from accessing the program. It has enabled them to read texts pitched at their level, whilst explicit instruction in literacy skills has enabled them to develop these alongside their reading levels.”
- Builds student knowledge“The content of reading material is varied and wide-ranging, developing students' understanding of the world. Texts are also from a range of genres, perspectives, cultures and contexts, increasing pupils ability and confidence with the unseen texts pupils will encounter at GCSE.”
- Provides school data“A wide range of data relation to students' usage and progress is available that enables the school to reflect on pupils academic achievements and effort levels. Data is also available to leaders to provide information about the fidelity of the way the program is implemented by literacy leads and class teachers.”
- Improves attainment“Teachers and pupils have commented on the knowledge and skills that pupils have developed through Lexia. Pupils have commented upon improvements in spelling, grammar and reading ability in particular, whilst teachers have noted improvements in writing accuracy and ability.”
- Improves teaching efficiency“Precision teaching through Lexia means that teachers can personalise learning and target key areas of need for every individual in their classroom at the same time.”
