Lexia is an interactive and child-friendly programme. MyLexia reports provide clear, actionable data for teachers with clear progression tracking. Children enjoy seeing their progress, through the coloured lines at the bottom of the screens for each activity, the wheel on the homepage, moving from part 1 to part 2 to the check up in each level, as well as from moving from level to level (and visiting a new location with each change in location). They love receiving certificates at the end of each level! The programme supports students with a wide range of needs, including those with English as an additional language, dyslexia, and speech and language difficulties. It provides clear data for each student and strengthens key literacy skills.

found Lexia Reading Skills Software:
  • Builds student knowledge
Students have made measurable gains in reading and spelling skills. Progress in phonological awareness and phonics. Students vocabulary has improved.
  • Provides school data
Students are placed at the right level after doing their placement test. Progress is monitored after the student logs in. Lexia generates clear reports that help teachers know exactly what to do next. Teachers use the usage reports in their own records from week to week. The skills reports and progress reports are very helpful to see exactly how children are finding the activities.
  • Reduces attainment gap
As soon as a child is flagged, a document is provided by the programme guiding the teacher through a lesson to help support them. Often, explicitly teaching the topic, using the document as an aid, will be enough. Sometimes, they need more practice, and so we revise the topic they are struggling with, before getting them to practice it in the app. The programme gives us the data we need to deliver targeted effective intervention, thus helping reduce the attainment gap.
  • Improves attainment
We have seen improvements in attainment, particularly among children who have English as an additional language. These pupils have shown growth in their vocabulary. Children with dyslexia are also benefiting from the programme, especially in the areas of phonics and decoding. In addition, children with speech and language difficulties are making positive progress.
  • Improves teaching efficiency
We use the specific feedback for each child to tailor our teaching and target any areas where they may be struggling. Students are given opportunities to practise these skills in isolation before embedding them in their everyday learning. MyLexia reports help us identify individual skill gaps and guide offline instruction and Skill Builder activities. Progress is reviewed regularly, and offline instruction and Skill Builders are completed to consolidate and strengthen learning.
