Mathswatch saves us a huge amount of time with the setting of homework, and with assessments. Equally important though, the team at Mathswatch are very quick to respond to issues. For example, when a student has taken an unconventional approach to a tricky question, which is valid, but unrecognised by the marking algorithm. In this situation, I have flagged the student's work, and the team at Mathswatch have quickly adjusted the mark scheme to allow the student's method. Their response time is similarly quick for any technical issues, on the rare occasion when these have cropped up. A brilliant team!

Reply from MathsWatch:Dear Gill, thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. Ensuring our users receive support whenever they need it is paramount for us and we'll go to any length for this. It is also extremely gratifying to see schools such as yours taking full advantage of all the features that our platform offers.
G Dove found MathsWatch:
  • Significantly reduces teacher workload
We set homework centrally on a weekly basis, and as a HOD, I can be confident that all students are given homework regularly. All Maths homework for years 7 to 11 is automatically marked, including shadow papers for students in the exam year groups. We are also easily able to give SEN students a bespoke homework that meets their needs, both in terms of length and difficulty. During high pressure times, we use the test facility to set assessments for students, thereby carrying out effective assessment, with only a minimal impact on staff workload. Features that we particularly like are: 1) the ability to set parallel questions in homeworks, reducing the opportunity for students to copy from a friend. 2) the ability to randomise the question order, which is extremely useful in assessments.
  • Moderately reduces attainment gap
Conscientious students use the homework to revise prior learning, and revise for future assessments. Following mocks, students are given a QLA that links to the videos and tasks on Mathswatch.
  • Significantly provides school data
Parents are given regular updates on their child's grades from homework. Data from tests is uploaded to our school reporting system.
  • Significantly improves attainment
Students who complete the follow up work from their mocks are able to make significant progress before their second mock. For students who need just a very quick reminder of a topic, they have the option to use the "one minute maths" videos, instead of the full length ones.
