It is very good, once you understand the quirks of the configurations and functionality. It is not very intuitive to staff and so has a high training need. I feel that we have only begun to access the deeper potential of School IP to support our school improvement journey.

Liam Wilkinson found SchooliP:
  • Improves school processes
We are using the monitoring process to support teacher feedback which links in to the teacher portfolio to drive appraisal. We are beginning to use the reports function more frequently to capture progress trends. We are also able to record coaching records and appraisal all in one place.
  • Provides school data
The reports from the monitoring give data on the development of the key teaching techniques we are seeking to impriove as a school.
  • Reduces teacher workload
As teachers become more confident in using School IP, this is helping to consolidate their development records in one place. We have not done this coherently previously, so this feels like an increase in workload temporarily, but will improve in time. SLT analysis of progress is much faster because of School IP.
  • Improves teacher wellbeing
Staff receiving regular positive feedback through School IP has helped to improve confidence and self-efficacy. The use of School IP has inspired a more rigorous approach to line management which means that all staff are having more regular developmental and supportive conversations.
  • Saves school money
We use School IP for several functions we did not do (well) previously, hence this is an additional cost overall, but as explained elsewhere, an important one.
