Alps provides outstanding training and bespoke support to raise standards in schools and colleges. Alps Connect is an invaluable tool to support learner progression and attainment in schools. It supports and empowers Sixth Form Leaders to make an impact on standards in their schools.

Emma Lloyd found Alps:
  • Significantly improves teaching efficiency
Targeting specific groups of learners to raise standards and plan interventions and differentiated learning to raise standards.
  • Significantly improves school processes
Positively impacts and informs self evaluation and improvement planning to raise standards. Facilitates impactful conversations in departmental reviews and allows planning for success to be integral to schools processes. Supports and empowers half termly progress reviews.
  • Significantly improves attainment
The range of tools available (e.g. what if?) allow subject leaders and SLT to plan effectively to raise standards in specific groups of learners. Standards are therefore raised across regional consortia and supports efficiency of support and professional learning requirements across the region.

ALPs is very user friendly and accessible. It is devised by people with real experience at all levels. From the 'what if' function that is used by class teachers to the strategic overview. ALPs is an efficient and highly effective tool to aid teaching and outcomes.

Matthew Bayley found Alps:
  • Significantly improves teaching efficiency
ALPs allow me a strategic oversight into the relative performance of the students in my care across the board. ALPs also allows me to delve deeper into departmental data and analyse the strengths and limitations amongst KPIs.
  • Significantly improves school processes
Following each DCP I utilise ALPs to track student progress. This provides SLT, HODs and HOFs with insightful data for intervention and fair accountability.
  • Moderately improves attainment
ALPs allows for effective tracking and monitoring. As a result we are able to implement intervention for key groups and track the effectiveness of it over time.

As a Director of Sixth Form and also first and foremostly as a teacher, ALPs' user friendly functionality and systems allows me to track progress and performance on a strategic and class- based level.

Matthew Bayley found Alps:
  • Significantly improves teaching efficiency
Alps is incredibly useful in allowing me as a director of sixth form to analyse in an accessible and effective way areas of strength and weakness amongst key groups both within and across departments, particularly on relative performance.
  • Significantly improves school processes
The downloads from ALPs following each DCP allow senior and middle leaders to evaluate progress over time and is the foundation of SLT/ML and staff meetings. Furthermore, the what if function is particularly insightful when targeting students for intervention.
  • Moderately improves attainment
ALPs enhances teaching and therefore attainment in so far as it ensures fair accountability which is a good motivator for staff as progress is based on a students prior attainment and potential relative to other students. Furthermore, it has a function that ensures measured intervention can occur and allows such students to be tracked over time.

  • Not significantly improves school processes
    Data analysis more consistent
  • Slightly improves attainment
Identifying target areas and pupils and then intervening with those groups

It is a very pracitcal and useful piece of software, if a little expensive.

Ashley Tomlin found Alps:

  • Moderately improves school processes
It is accessible enough to encourage leaders at all levels to properly engage with the data
  • Moderately improves attainment
It highlights trends over time for specific groups, enabling targetting of groups of students. It also highlights where a students course choices are obviously not working.

We have cascaded ALPS into the school starting with A level and are now using at KS4 as well. It provides something that is consistent and easy to use for monitoring/tracking throughout the year. I find it extremely useful for monitoring the students and also the success of the courses we deliver. The website is very user friendly and allows you to analyse data quickly.

Rachel Ward found Alps:
  • Moderately improves teaching efficiency
It indicates the level at which a student should be working at, and so staff know at what level to stretch and challenge each student. It helps to monitor student progress.
  • Moderately improves school processes
When evaluating our courses we use Alps to look at success of students and the course. We also are able to analyse each student's progress using different areas of the Alps Connect website. Action plans and targets are set for both students and staff delivering each course.

Sep 2022

Have been using ALPS with secondary schools in Enfield and for particular schools it as proven extremely valuable in dissecting student performance/need from a varied intake. ALPS iterations in recent years has allowed schools to use the data and info to aid teachers as opposed to measure schools performance across the school offer.

Andy Johnson found Alps:
  • Slightly improves teaching efficiency
Feedback from schools suggests that info derived from CONNECT has allowed faculties to drill down to outlier students in teaching groups.
  • Slightly improves school processes
Schools are able to allocate resources (often scarce!) to specific student groups based on previous data on students entering sixth form with particular GCSE grades.
  • Slightly improves attainment
    Yes, see response above.

Mr A A Bodell

Headteacher

Blenheim High School, England

Used Alps weekly for 5 years+

Oct 2021

ALPS has played an integral part in raising student achievement at Blenheim High School since my appointment as Headteacher in 2017. The school was the most improved in Surrey for GCSE Results in 2018 and achieved its highest attainment for GCSEs in 2019. In 2020 a record number of Sixth Form students took up places at Oxbridge. ALPS is both simple and forensic. At a basic level it provides ‘real time’ position statements of students, groups and year groups against highly credible data. At an advanced level it facilitates deep analysis of trends over time and allows indisputable conclusions to be drawn. ALPS is also backed up by a team of educationalists who are easily contactable either electronically or by telephone. This high level of specialist support makes ALPS a highly valuable tool through which student achievement can be raised.

Mr A A Bodell found Alps:
  • Significantly improves teaching efficiency
Targeted delivery to students depending upon tracking data.
  • Significantly improves school processes
    Significantly improved public examination outcomes
  • Significantly improves attainment

Neil Wilkinson found Alps:
