I had a fantastic experience with Century and highly recommend it to other educators. Fay Allen, the liaison for Century, has been incredibly supportive and I am excited to continue working with her in the future. I introduced Century to my Year 7, Year 8, and Year 10 ESL classes, and the response from students was overwhelmingly positive. One of the standout features of Century is its ability to keep students engaged throughout their learning journey. Unlike other literacy platforms, Century breaks the monotony and offers fresh and engaging content that students truly enjoy. The platform’s intuitive AI plays a crucial role in differentiating instruction, which is essential in my classroom. With students of varying ability levels, it is crucial to have approaches that cater to their individual needs. Century’s AI adapts to each student’s strengths and weaknesses, providing personalized learning pathways that ensure optimal progress for every learner. I must also commend Fay Allen for her exceptional support in getting started with Century. The learning curve was brief, thanks to her assistance and guidance. It has a brilliant UI for students to use and is easily accessible from all devices. The support from our account manager has been fantastic and it has been easily intergrated into our plans to improve English and maths achievement.

I use Century every day to help my Science students. Most of them do like the platform, the nuggets (microlessons) and show engagement in their learning as they are able to see quickly an improvement in their understanding.

Century Tech is an excellent tool that saves time for teachers and can extend pupil´s learning. It does take a little time to learn how to use effectives, which for a busy teacher can be difficult to find (hence losing a point), however, once up and running it is a fantastic help which staff, students and parents love.

    Apart from for homework, we regularly use Century Tech in maths and English. It removes the marking burden and gives us a quick and easy way to assess understand and gaps within the class. We also use it to support EAL children in English where there are grammatical holes in their knowledge. Furthermore, we use it in science as an assessment tool and as a teaching tool where scientific methodology is concerned (before conducting experiments).
  • Significantly provides school data
    Century is used to quickly inform teacher assessment. Typically, we will assess each student using formative data, before then checking our thoughts with the work they complete on Century. If there is a difference, then we would take a deeper dive when making a decision on the children´s ability in that subject.
  • Moderately improves teaching efficiency
    Planning for Century lessons tends to be quicker than a conventional lesson as the nugget will deliver the teaching. As the lesson progresses, it is very easy to target support in the class, so there is no need to plan "expected" support. Rather, after the first 10 minutes or so, it is easy to see where the teacher time is best spent. Likewise, the plenary is defined by the most common areas that the class struggled with, thus ensuring we make the most of our child facing teacher time.
  • Moderately improves attainment
    As we are able to target support, tailor homework and encourage the children to lead their own learning using the learning pathway, Century can have a big impact on attainment. For those children that have a thirst for knowledge, it enables them to find areas of interest and study them before we teach that area in class. As data is stored, we as teachers are quickly able to see whom we need to challenge and stretch.
  • Moderately builds student knowledge
    Whilst as teachers, we try to illustrate many ways to look at a problem / question, having Century to draw on is like having another teacher voice for the children. They are therefore better able to choose how they wish to learn and so are able to embed, further or consolidate knowledge.

The score would have been 10, but the lack of content for KS1 makes it difficult to promote Century to teachers in that key stage. More content for KS2 would also be good, as the content available is great, would love more!

    I suggest that my staff alternate setting teacher marked and CENTURY homework, so this halve marking (certainly mine, anyway!) We use CENTURY for all cover work- it's perfect as the students can still be taught content and the teacher who is away doesn't have to worry about all the marking when they get back. We also use it to set extra intervention work for students in preparation for the clinics-again, no marking and we can tailor the clinic to their needs.

    As a HoD I use CENTURY to spy on independent learning that students are doing during revision periods but I don't really use it for school data.

    It's a great starter to see where everyone is so that you can quickly differentiate. It's also good as part of a circus of activities. Having all that data makes lesson planning quicker.

    I ran a study on the year 10 students and how they revised and the most successful in the end of year exam had used CENTURY.

    The nuggets are well-written and cover everything they need to know in the specification. It's good for the students to hear different voices (teacher and CENTURY) imparting information. I would always send a student to CENTURY over a text book.

Century Tech is just an amazing tool. It has allowed us to really close gaps and ensure that no child is being left behind. The children find it engaging and easy to use and enjoy using the videos as they can stop them at any point to process what is being said.
