Kapow is well structured and resourced. We do make the occasional tweak to suit our particular cohorts or because of time constraints but it is very easy to do this as the ideas are already there and resources can usually be adapted, rather than having to start from scratch making new ones. There are also often alternative resources provided for pupils that may find some of the lesson content challenging.

  • Significantly reduces teacher workload
    Lessons are fully sequenced, with accompanying resources. You're therefore not having to worry about organising a sequence of lessons or searching for resources to use
  • Significantly improves teaching efficiency
    Lessons are structured so that there is plenty of work for the session but they're also pretty easy to adapt if you don't have quite as much time available.
  • Significantly improves teacher knowledge
    Lessons have helpful 'Teacher Guidance' attached as part of the lesson plan and often come with a teacher video, in addition to the pupil videos. This is particularly helpful where specialist knowledge is required, for example, when exploring stability in DT (Year 2).
  • Moderately improves attainment
    Children in school have good levels of attainment across the curriculum, including in the subjects for which we use Kapow.
  • Significantly builds student knowledge
    Each lesson starts with a recap of previous learning, which helps to secure the children's knowledge and retrieval of key pieces of information.
