What is Provision Map?

In the UK, Tes Learning pathways is called Provision Map. It has all the same benefits, just a different name.

Every tool you need:

Provision Map is packed with features designed to reduce workload and help manage SEND, Pupil Premium, & personalised learning experiences.

Flexible Learning Plans

Our learning plans are very easy to use and are fully customisable to match in with what you are doing at your school. They are in line with the SEND Code of Practice and follow the Assess – Plan – Do – Review approach.

Easy Provision Mapping

Provision Mapping does not need to be a nightmare for SENCOs. Our software makes it fast and easy to map out interventions and to keep track of what pupils and staff are involved with in each intervention you have running. Just create a provision and then click to add pupils – simple and effective!

Streamline Reviews

Reviewing is a key part of the SEN (Special Education Needs) management cycle and with our automatic reminders you will never miss a review again. Reviewing a plan or provision is quick and easy and again fits in with the SEND Code of Practice.

Instant Reports

Cost, time, Pupil Premium and outcome reports are available at the click of a button. Our reporting engine saves SENCOs & Pupil Premium Co-ordinators hours of time every day. Just choose the criteria you require and a detailed report is instantly available.

Parental Involvement

An option we provide, which is proving popular, is the ability to share a pupil’s plan with their parents. Learner & Parent involvement is a strong theme throughout the SEND Code of Practice and our approach has been identified as outstanding practice in a number of our schools.

Perfect One Page Profile

One page profile is a handy tool. These are included in our Learning Plan package and our template system allows you to tailor them to meet the pupil’s needs.

Information From Staff

Getting information from staff about pupils can be a real headache but our optional School Robins plugin makes this super streamlined. When you need to know something from staff they get sent an email, but all of their replies are collated and attached to the pupil. Less SENCO time hunting down paperwork!

Provision Map Transition

Provision Map supports seamless transition in a secure and automated manner and solves the problem of information transfers between schools.

Reduce workload

Smooth September start

Flow of information per legal regulations

Provision Map Transition allows you to move plans/provisions/one-page profile/files/meeting logs for a pupil from one school to another. This is helpful so you have all that information at your fingertips for a new starter. This is an ideal way to improve communication between establishments and ensure that smooth transition that we all strive for.

Outcome Tracking

Our outcome tracking feature makes it easy for you to see the impact of the interventions and plans you have in place and take action accordingly.

Safeguarding

Provision Map has an optional safeguarding module that makes it easy for teachers or other school staff to report their safeguarding concerns which are then effectively managed by the school’s Safeguarding Lead.

It has tightened up systems, gives staff direction and knowledge about pupils. At the touch of a button, any member of staff can find out about a child's needs, what support they have currently/have had in the past and helps to provide a graduated approach, supporting the child and family.

Mrs found Provision Map:
  • Moderately reduces teacher workload
Less written paperwork and helps to combine meetings with parents.
  • Significantly provides school data
Helps to identify key children and groups of children that require support.
  • Slightly improves teacher knowledge
  • Moderately improves school processes
More succinct. Staff are aware of what is needed.
  • Slightly builds student knowledge

User friendly, evidence of interventions can be used with parents. It would be great to have more access to 1:1 session support rather than the group as often need specific guidance. All 1:1 that we have had has been outstanding and really supportive.

Mrs found Provision Map:
  • Moderately reduces teacher workload
Visual impact displayed from provisions. Provisions clear to parents.
  • Moderately provides school data
  • Moderately improves teacher knowledge
Correct language and terminology to be used when writing a target
  • Moderately improves school processes
    Whole school using Provision maps
  • Moderately builds student knowledge
    Gaining child voice for Passports

We are not planning on renewing our subscription. As mentioned previously the interface in complicated to use and teachers are reluctant to use the software. It has the potential to be really useful, but as it is, it just doesn't work for us.

Miss found Provision Map:
  • Does not reduce teacher workload
We bought the software in the hope to reduce workload and join up teacher-SENCO work on support plans and one-page profiles, however, the software if difficult to use and takes a long time and countless modelling and training. It is also easy to make mistakes with dates and sequencing documents. It is difficult/not possible to get the layout the way we want, again, all adding to workload.
  • Does not provide school data
    N/A
  • Slightly improves teacher knowledge
Information can be added from external agencies for teachers to view, however, they find this long-winded and don't use it willingly.
  • Does not significantly improve school processes
We wanted it to streamline information for target setting and where necessary to support EHCP applications, but it is much less useful than initially thought and we usually find it easier to use Word.
  • Slightly builds student knowledge
It could do. It is great that you can log on from anywhere, but the website it difficult to use and jumps around a lot because of the format. It is confusing and teachers need a lot of modelling to use.

As another 2 SENCos in our small network of school's also agree - we wouldn't go back to not having it!

Miss found Provision Map:
  • Significantly reduces teacher workload
It automatically pulls lot of information about the individual pupil without the need to manually enter the data. This can also apply to sorting groups. It takes a lot of the admin out of workload.
  • Significantly provides school data
The comparison tool of school, to LA, to national is interesting rough guide. The ability to quickly evaluate impact of interventions is really good with the given scaling. Its also good as an audit tool for effectiveness of resources.
  • Slightly improves teacher knowledge
It can enable quick reference for the carousel teachers when they are completing risk assessments. However they often still come to ask.
  • Significantly improves school processes
It makes the administration process much quicker due to how much data is automatically generated.
  • Slightly builds student knowledge
This is an area I will be developing this coming year

The round robin is quite clunky and it would be easier if you could have it so you could have tick boxes for responses to help with reviews in a secondary school.

Reduces the need for teachers to download or print off an updated profile.
  • Slightly provides school data
  • Slightly improves teacher knowledge

Provision Mapping has really revolutionised the way we do things and enabled us to overcome some challenges with mapping, planning and thinking about how we support students in a 16-19 setting. I cannot imagine our lives without this tool now, and I cannot remember how we even survived before we signed up. Provision Map really has been life-changing.

Mrs found Provision Map:
  • Slightly reduces teacher workload
Provision Map has not necessarily reduced teacher workload, however, we are now far more systematic in our approaches and are able to review the impact of our work more easily. The workload of the Head of Additional Learning Support (SENCo) has been reduced significantly!
  • Moderately provides school data
We are able to see how much support our students with EHC Plans receive, and this has helped with our requests for additional funding. We can also tell, at a glance, how many students are taking up our universal offer of support. This has been invaluable.
  • Slightly improves teacher knowledge
  • Significantly improves school processes
We are now far more systematic in our planning and strategies. We can see what is effective and what isn't and make sure that we do more of the right things!
  • Moderately builds student knowledge
The Individual Learning Plans, which are fully customisable, means that students have a sense of ownership over their plan and over their learning. This, in turn, provides a greater sense of motivation and control and we have seen this make a real difference to students who are struggling.
