The software is a cloud-based service, with each teacher able to create their own account and login. Teachers are taken through a very simple and fast set up process; select the subject area, the exam board being used to deliver the qualification and you are ready to go! Just start adding data for an instant grade calculation.

If teachers wish to add classes they can either share the lists through our GDPR Compliant Portal or they can simply upload a template containing student names. The Technical requirements are very low as the software has been designed to be as intuitive as possible to use.

We do offer and recommend a demonstration call so that teachers can see it in use to ensure that they are able to make the most out of the system. We also have live chat as well as a full tutorial video library showing users how to use each feature and why that feature is of particular use.

Pupil progress has change the way our school thinks about data. Instead of data analysis being overwhelming to a lot of teachers, we are now learning what the data tells us and how we can use it to help our students rather than just collecting numbers. Students are now more involved in their progress than ever before with personalised reports for each subject clearly breaking down their subjects into reasonable chunks, making their revision and home learning easier and more importantly, measureable.

Alicia Jolly found Pupil Progress:
  • Significantly reduces teacher workload
Data analysis now does not need to be done manually. It is very easy to target groups of students for intervention both by class teachers and middle/senior leaders.
  • Significantly provides school data
Class teachers can now easily see the topics their classes and individuals are struggling with. This allows us to adapt our teaching. Curriculum leaders can see the progress of the cohort quickly and can spot potential trends in the topics that student are struggling in.
  • Significantly improves teaching efficiency
By seeing the breakdown by topic, class teachers can easily see the topics they need to reteach of perhaps topics that are less of a priority.
  • Significantly improves teacher knowledge
Teachers can see all the data of their classes easily and all in one place. This allows them to know exactly what each students in aiming for, see quickly whether they are on track of that and if they are not what topic they need to work on in order to reach their target
  • Significantly improves attainment
By being able to teach to gaps in knowledge, students are receiving the teaching they need. Students also receive their own copy of their report which allows them to see exactly what they need to do to improve

I thoroughly enjoy the way in which pupil progress can be used as a live marking tool, you can identify what students are doing well and what their focus should be from a click of a button. Another area would be how forthcoming the team are with supporting any issues you may come across or anything you may want to adapt.

Rachael Taylor found Pupil Progress:
  • Moderately reduces teacher workload
Heat mapping strengths and areas of concern automatically allowing for DTT to happen imminently
  • Significantly provides school data
Our evidence of student grades are far more significant, using Pupil Progress allows us to look at average grade points to predict more accurately
  • Slightly improves teaching efficiency
It has allowed for staff to identify topic areas in which they need to go back over or set for revision
  • Slightly improves teacher knowledge
Still early with use of Pupil Progress, I believe this will become clearer as we use it more
  • Moderately improves attainment
It allows for further DTT on areas of focus for students, staff can then create direction with revision and test the impact after a period of time

Aside from the points above about how useful the Pupil Progress is, the organisation and support from a range of colleagues across Pupil Progress has been second to none. I can't fault the implementation at any stage and it has been a pleasure to work with colleagues.

Paul O'Sullivan found Pupil Progress:
  • Significantly reduces teacher workload
We are currently in the early stages of implementation where there is a lot of CPD and training, despite the interface being incredibly user friendly. Long term, once embedded and utilised effectively, I can certainly see how Pupil Progress will reduce teacher workload. As a Senior Leader, who likes the smaller details, this has reduced my workload and made it easier for me to find out key information at just a few quick clicks; this has really helped my efficiency and supported Middle Leaders as I can find the information myself as opposed to request the information from staff.
  • Significantly improves teaching efficiency
Pupil progress has really supported teachers at with bespoke question level analysis for individual students and overall subjects. The information that pupil progress provides teachers/leaders enables follow up actions to be strategically targeted at the students who need it most, and on the topics the best match their gaps in knowledge.
  • Significantly improves parent engagement
  • Significantly improves attainment
A huge part of teaching is 'addressing the gaps' and pupil progress is a really user friendly interface that tells us what these gaps are. These topics and knowledge that are not secure, or not in line with expected progress, are then used by class teachers or subject leaders to provide adaptive lessons and curricula.
  • Significantly builds student knowledge

It has been brilliant to use a system that automatically updates and shows progress scores without needing our data manager to calculate these. Some teachers have struggled with a lack of flexibility within the trackers to make small changes. If reports could be seen by parents through an app or email system it would be a 10.

Katie Darmody found Pupil Progress:

  • Significantly improves teaching efficiency

This has changed my approach towards analysing data. The software provides an individual process which serves each subject. No longer am I getting overall data, I have how far off students are from grades, areas of weakness and strength. The software is easily to work and the team at pupil progress have always helped when I've requested it or needed to alter issues. This doesn't happen for individual subject leaders with the older software used. This is much more than an overall picture of your subject. It's a journey the staff and students can clearly see and get to the desired end goal.

Mark Thompson found Pupil Progress:
  • Moderately reduces teacher workload
It allows the department to focus on areas of weakness regarding particular questions so we focus on these. This stops needless planning of questions they are comfortable with. Discussions are easily led in department meetings as a result of the data and how it is displayed regarding individual students and classes.
  • Significantly improves teaching efficiency
Teachers can precisely pinpoint areas students need to work on. This can be question based or AO based. The software is easily for all teachers to use to effectively know the strengths and weaknesses according to the GCSE or A-Level papers.
  • Significantly improves teacher knowledge
The knowledge of question weaknesses for students has allowed my department to initiate professional development in how to tackle these questions. This being externally led or through external exam board sessions. Teachers within the department feel much more confident with their knowledge of the papers demands.
  • Significantly improves attainment
It is easy for students to get their own individual report which tell them weaknesses in AO's or on particular questions. Targets can be easily set to drive standards and attainment in these areas to drive outcomes for each student according to their needs on the paper or course.
